Privacy policy

SwimTeam shows swimming workouts from the Apple Health app to the athlete who swam them and to that athlete's coach. This page says what is kept, who can see it, and how to have it removed. Health data is personal, so the short version is: we keep only swims, we show them only to the people above, and we do not sell or share them.
What we keep
Your account
- Your name and email address, and your password — kept only as a salted one-way hash, never in a form that can be read back.
- Whether you are a coach or an athlete, and which team you belong to.
- Your settings: yards or meters, and the last date range you filtered by, so it is there when you return.
- When you registered and when you last uploaded.
Your team (coaches): the team's name and its join code.
Your swims (athletes), taken from the export you upload:
- Date, time, duration, distance, pool length and estimated calories.
- Lap-by-lap detail: stroke, time, and stroke count for each length.
- Heart-rate readings taken during a swim, and the average and maximum computed from them.
- The name of the app or watch that recorded the swim, and whether it was open water.
What we do not keep
- Anything in your Health export that is not a swim — steps, sleep, other workouts, heart rate outside a swim, medical records, and the rest. It is read and discarded as the file is processed.
- The
export.zipitself. It is processed as it uploads and is not saved. - Location or route data.
Who can see your data

Every page checks these rules on the server; they do not depend on what a link or a menu happens to show. The person who runs this site can also reach the database it is stored in, as anyone operating a service can.
Sharing
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or hand it to anyone else. The site uses no analytics or tracking scripts, and loads no fonts, images or code from other companies. The one outside service involved is email: to confirm your address we send you a message through a mail provider, which necessarily sees your address and that message.
Cookies
- A session cookie keeps you signed in while you browse. It is removed when you close the browser or sign out.
- If you tick Keep me signed in on this device, a second cookie keeps you signed in for 30 days. Signing out removes it.
Both are needed for the site to work; there are no advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Until you ask for it to be deleted. Uploading the same swim again replaces the stored copy rather than adding another.
Downloading or deleting your data
You can download a copy of everything held about you from Your data rights. There is no delete button yet, so deletion is by request. Ask for your swims removed, or your whole account, and both are deleted. Write to [email protected] from the address on your account. Deleting your data from your device's Health app is separate and does not affect what has been uploaded here.
